The “Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery Systems (TREMIRS)” project, within the FID-CPI Line of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, is 80% co-financed by FEDER funds (POPE Programme 2014-2020) and by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Agenda of the Regional Government of Extremadura.

Its objective is to meet the Extremadura and Spanish Health System needs in the field of minimally invasive surgery, developing innovative solutions in surgical robotics that improve existing systems in laparoscopic surgery and microsurgery.

Two platforms will be developed for both surgical fields. The first will focus on facilitating new surgical approaches, improvements in surgeon ergonomics, advances in viewing systems and new portable training tools; the second will seek to develop new robotic micro-instruments for soft tissue manipulation and perform microsurgical techniques such as anastomosis, suturing and ligation on small anatomical structures such as blood vessels, nerves and lymphatic ducts.

Based on this need, the JUMISC published the call for a Preliminary Market Consultation on 8 March 2021 (deadline 12/05/2021 – 2 pm) to gather information for the Innovative Public Procurement of both platforms and to inform technology operators about its procurement plans and requirements.

This Consultation is open to natural and legal persons who can respond to the challenges posed by technologies that do not currently exist on the market, defining possible innovative and practicable functional specifications to be considered in the project.
